In other words, if it would feel wrong or uncomfortable in the real world, it probably shouldn’t happen in the digital world either.

A practical example of this is our approach to Giving. We refused to take a cut of every gift, even though it's common practice for most church platforms. Standing next to an usher and taking a little money from everyone who gave would be wrong. Just because we could hide that fact with online giving, wouldn’t make it okay.

So in Nucleus, we eliminate sketchy behaviors, and instead lean into the natural, relational trust you expect and want to see in the real world. This approach helps us and church leaders stay caring and intentional, not creepy.

Churches need a trusted place where they can leverage the best design, technology, and user experience — without sacrificing their privacy or the longevity of their content.

We know social media is where the majority of people in the world gather. And we believe strongly that as Christians and churches, we need to continue to go into the world and preach The Good News wherever people are.

At the same time, we recognize that social and other content platforms are rented space and not guaranteed. Media and technology solutions will continue to do what they think is best for business. Many times, that won’t be what’s best (or most helpful) for churches, or what’s most in line with our beliefs as Christians.

That’s why churches need to continue to go where people gather, but at the same time have a secure, private, and reliable hub for their community.

A place where people can learn, grow, and connect with the life and mission of your church, however the winds of culture may change.
